Alexi Byrnes
Alexi grew up in the Boise area and spent most of her life exploring and living in different parts of the Pacific Northwest. After spending time away perusing lutherie work (the repair and setup of musical instruments) and music teaching/performance, she found her way back to the Idaho wilderness and discovered a new passion in guiding. When not on the river she can be found jamming, roller-skating, climbing, reading, or mountain biking. The things she brings to the river are her passions of music, yoga, and meditation which can open a space of authenticity and connection for people to have a deeper and more meaningful connection to themselves and with wild places. Alexi thinks the river has such a power to change us forever and bring a larger perspective- this makes her feel incredibly grateful to be a river guide in the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness Area: a temple of nature and spirit. 2022 is Alexi’s third season as a river guide and her first with with MFRE. She is beyond excited to spend another season on the water in the company of wonderful humans.
